The core of every materials management program is the master data, i.e., the key operationally relevant data, e.g., for articles, customers, suppliers, and manufacturers. In MediConnect® NEO®, for example, they are loaded into orders or purchase orders and form the basis for conducting correct transactions. Consolidated data are analyzed in the statistics on this basis. The article master in particular is of major importance with regard to medical documentation and compliance with legal requirements. Since material costs, e.g., in cardiology, make up about one third of the total costs, the allocations need to be clear and correct.
MediConnect® Neo® is a comprehensive materials management system that ensures the aspects of material documentation at both the patient and the point-of-use level. The fast processing of material bookings through simple order processing is a key success factor. When an order is entered in MediConnect® NEO®, all information relevant for the order, such as the delivery and invoice details, is loaded via the patient and case data or cost center and assigned via account assignments. By entering or scanning the article number, all relevant data from the article master, such as manufacturer information and the serial number, are loaded into the order items. The correct conditions in the order are automatically assigned via careful price maintenance.
The aim of procurement is to ensure long-term supply in line with orders and requirements at the lowest possible cost. With MediConnect® NEO® you can optimally control stock levels by means of automatic order proposals based on target, reorder, and minimum stocks. Bottlenecks in inventory management are thus detected and prevented, enabling orders to be fulfilled on time. Even more importantly, tedious checking of expiration dates in the form of visual inspections is no longer necessary in future, because shelf life and batch numbers for recalls can be displayed at the push of a button and as a pop-up – both quickly and conveniently.
Each article in MediConnect® NEO® has a clearly structured article account with delivery receipts and issues. Transactions in progress are shown in the master account, depending on the type of transaction. You can see at a glance which quantities are flowing in and out. In addition, an actual valuation of the correct average purchase price can be carried out by taking subsequent delivery costs into account, such as freight or customs duty. Items can be stocked in different warehouses. NEO also provides a tool for inventory management.
MediConnect® Neo® provides various standard analyses, such as manufacturer, supplier, or article statistics in a periodic comparison. They can be narrowed down by using filters and displayed in various ways, as a table or a graphic. The software is so flexible that the dashboard can be customized to meet the needs of specific users. For further use you can export the statistics via Excel or PDF.
Via integrated interfaces, transaction bookings or master data are exchanged bi-directionally with all relevant systems. This includes, for example, the connection to central modules of the hospital information system such as financial accounting or controlling, or to an integrated online order shop. The automatic transfer makes time-consuming manual input redundant. Different records exist for the various transfer options, which are identified by their record types.
